Two women have been charged with animal cruelty after one of their dogs was
found dead in the snow and another was found alive in a bag in a trash
container. The women, one from Clayton and another from Magnolia, were charged this
week by the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after investigations
into the separate incidents.Patricia Wynavage, 49, of West Clayton Avenue,
Clayton, is accused of failing to provide shelter to her Pekinese and failing to
properly feed the dog. It was found dead in the snow Jan. 30.She faces a March 8
municipal court hearing.

Rounelle Boyce, 21, of the Magnolia Glen Apartments, off the White Horse
Pike, Magnolia, was charged with placing a pit bull mix puppy in a bag and tossing
it into a trash container outside the apartments. The puppy was found alive
Dec. 26 and taken to an animal hospital, where it was treated. It has recovered
and is up for adoption. The incident was traced to Boyce, who told
investigators that she had put the puppy in the trash container because it was sickly and
she didn't know what to do with it, said John Micklewright of the Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.Boyce also was charged with failing to
provide medical care for the animal, Micklewright said. She faces a municipal
court hearing on Wednesday in Magnolia.ADVERTISEMENT - CLICK TO ENLARGE OR VISIT
