Subject: Great news from EFMA
Dear EFMA Supporter,
1) Please can we ask for your urgent assistance in helping us to take advantage of a historic opportunity?
Ann Widdecombe MP has invited Dr Greek to speak to an open meeting of MPs in the House of Commons on March 17th. All 669 MPs have been invited.
Please write to your MP to encourage them to attend the meeting - feel free to use the sample letter below.
Owing to unavoidable complications, time is now very short, so please do write immediately!
You can find the name (and email address) of your MP at
www.locata.co.uk/commons or phone the House of Commons information line on 020 7219 4272.
The address for all MPs is House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
We are extremely grateful for your help in this - pressure from constituents
will really help to persuade MPs to make the time in their busy schedules.
Dear
I am writing to you to ask you to attend a meeting in the House of Commons, which I consider to be of great importance.
Dr Ray Greek of Europeans For Medical Advancement will address a meeting hosted by Ann Widdecombe on Wednesday 17th March from 12.30 1.30pm. He will speak about the human cost of animal experimentation and answer any questions you may have.
Dr Greek is the world's foremost expert on the use of animals in medical research and its consequences for human health. He will explain how animal xperimentation often confounds our understanding of human disease, delays the development of treatments and endangers patients. The importance of this issue for the future of medicine cannot be overstated.
I urge you, please, to attend the meeting and find out why.
Thankyou.
Yours sincerely,

Animal experiments have:
a 63% failure rate when detecting human carcinogens
a 75-95% failure rate for detecting drug side effects
a 70% failure rate for detecting drugs which cause birth defects
Success rates lower than those achieved by uneducated guesswork.
This is not science!!
