Police are hunting the driver of a Land Rover believed to be behind a series
of wildlife mutilations.
In the past two weeks, a deer and seven foxes have been killed, butchered and
left on footpaths in Gloucestershire woodland.
Police said the foxes appeared to have been savaged by dogs. The remains of
their bodies had been placed in a line along a path with their heads all
pointing in the same direction.
Both incidents, described by police as “distressing”, happened in the
woodland area around Coates, Sapperton and Stratton, near Cirencester.
A green hard-topped Land Rover containing eight large dogs, believed to be
lurchers, was spotted by a member of the public in the area on Friday 13 at
around 3pm. Once the driver realised the vehicle had been seen, it sped off.
Gloucestershire police are keen to speak to the driver or anyone else with
information about the incident on 0845 0901 234.

not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing."
