ARE you interested in conservation? Would you like to be involved in
decision-making about local national parks? You may be just the person the NSW
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is hoping to recruit for one of its
Regional Advisory Committees to provide a crucial link with the community.
Acting NPWS Director Southern, Alistair Henchman, said committee members are
generally drawn from a variety of backgrounds and interests and that
nominations for the voluntary positions are invited until March 26.
"We are hoping people from local councils, university students studying
environmental subjects, the rural community, recreational user groups, conservation
groups, bush fire brigades, the education, scientific and tourism fields, and
the Aboriginal community will be interested in joining the Advisory
Committee," Mr Henchman said.
