KINGMAN – The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking information that
could help lead to the arrest of those responsible for the recent killing of a
bull elk northwest of Prescott.
The poaching took place on either the evening of Friday, Feb. 6, or early
morning of Feb. 7, said Darren Tucker, a wildlife manager based in Prescott.
Someone killed the mature bull next to Yavapai County Road 124 (Fair Oaks
Road), approximately four miles west of its junction with County Road 5
(Williamson Valley Road), Tucker said.
The poacher or poachers took the antlers and a relatively small amount of
meat, then left the rest of the animal in the field, Tucker said.
