AR-News: (US MI) Dog Found Barely Alive, Experts Say Neglect Common

KENT COUNTY -- A starved pit bull was found barely alive in a Grand Rapids 
neighborhood.

Animal control experts say he was probably somebody's pet that was just 
pitched in the street. They say it happens more often than you might think.

A five month old puppy, who's been named "Tiny Tim", was found on the 
Southeast side by animal control officers. He was extremely malnourished and cold.

"Unfortunately we see a lot of neglect and abuse no matter what the time of 
year it is," said Dr. Richelle Smith.
