"It's important we give the tools to a principal to protect children in and
out of school," Moss said. The bill stems in part from a 1999 case in the
Granite School District when animal rights protestors forced students to walk in
the street to get to their buses. The state recently agreed to pay People for
the Ethical Treatment of Animals $82,000 in the group's lawsuit stemming from
the disruption of its anti-McDonald's protest at a junior high school.
The bill moves on to the Senate for consideration.
