THE WIDOW of maligned diet guru Dr Robert Atkins will launch an offensive 
this week against promoters of vegetarianism, likening them to Taliban fighters.

In the latest instalment in the diet war, Veronica Atkins has two prime-time 
television interviews scheduled to dispute claims her husband was obese when 
he died in a fall last year aged 72. The low-carbohydrate Atkins regime has 
come under fire this month from a group of doctors who favour vegetarianism and 
claim the high-protein, high-fat diet Dr Atkins followed led to his documented 
heart problems and obesity. 
But according to Mrs Atkins, those doctors are "like the Taliban".
