Horses and politics are on tap at this week's meeting of Neighborhood Council
5.
Phyllis Tryon will talk about the Equine Protection League of Cascade County
and Rep. George Golie will talk about what redistricting has done to precinct
boundaries in the council district which lies south of 10th Avenue South and
east of 20th Street. He also will discuss other election law changes that will
affect voting in the future.
The Equine Protection League is a nonprofit organization that formed in 2002
to help law enforcement handle animal-abuse cases. Once an abuse case has made
its way through the appropriate legal channels, the league steps in to house,
feed and rehabilitate the horses before placing them in good homes.
