Coimbatore (TN), Feb. 10. (PTI): Considering the prevailing dry conditions in 
the forests and grass land eco-system, Indira Gandhi Wildlife sanctuary and 
National Park, Pollachi, will remain closed for tourism for two-and-half months 
from February 16. 
The decision was taken in view of the susceptibility to forest fire, in the 
interest of protecting the wildlife habitat and to reduce the disturbance to 
the wide ranging animals, particularly elephants, V Ganesan, Wildlife Warden, 
said in a release today. 
The sanctuary will be closed till April 30, Ganesan said.
