AR-News: (US) Search dropped for herd linked to mad cow disease

The Bush administration said Monday it was halting the search for cattle
imported from a Canadian herd linked to mad cow disease, even though
dozens of the animals have not been found.

"We feel confident the remaining animals present little risk," said Ron
DeHaven, chief veterinarian for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

 "We never expected to find all of them," DeHaven said. "It's remarkable
we found all that we did."
