Bank of America has awarded a $5,000 gift to the Kansas Humane Society that
will be used to underwrite the Society's Pet Workshops. The series of monthly
workshops, beginning this April, provides participants humane solutions to
common pet-related issues ranging from unwanted eliminations to behavior problems
to how to prepare a pet for the addition of a new baby.
These seminars enable pet owners to get help for common pet ownership
problems," says Kim Janzen, Kansas Humane Society executive director. "The goal is to
eliminate the need for people to give up their pets. We are grateful to have
the corporate partnership of Bank of America in this effort."
Robert Allison, president of Bank of America Kansas, says the bank is pleased
to be part of the Society's mission in the community.
The Kansas Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization that receives
nearly 13,000 animals each year from citizens unable or unwilling to care for
them. The society receives no government, national humane association or
United Way funding and depends on private donations and adoption fees.
