BUSTER McDermott is meticulous about his personal appearance.
With a regular weekly trim, he keeps his hair at a perfectly coiffed length.
He gets his nails done just as often.
His favorite cologne, Blue Breeze, makes him smell a bit like a freshly
groomed dog. But that's OK.
Buster, after all, is a dog.
Not just any dog, mind you, but a pampered pooch. He is so pampered that his
owner makes sure Buster, a purebred, soft-coated wheaten terrier, gets groomed
at his home each week without fail.
"I want the experience to be as stress-free for him as possible," Wendy
McDermott says in her nicely appointed living room in the exclusive gated Blackhawk
community as Buster gets his weekly grooming in the front driveway. "It has
become a part of his life."
Buster, a fluffy bundle of cream-colored energy, seems to enjoy his at-home
groomings. He eagerly bounds out the door and into the California Mobile Pet
Grooming van when he hears the doorbell ring.
