AR-News: (UK) We'll see animal militants in court, says Huntingdon

Huntingdon Life Sciences is preparing private prosecutions against
militant animal rights protesters because it is not getting enough
protection from the law.

Andrew Baker, the head of Europe's largest contract testing laboratory,
wrote to Ken Macdonald, the Director of Public Prosecutions, last week
complaining at the lack of action against violent demonstrators who are
harming his business by driving away suppliers and customers.

Several companies have ended their links with Huntingdon Life Sciences
after their directors and staff were subjected to violence, intimidation
and threats by members of Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (Shac), the group
formed in 1999 "with the sole aim of closing HLS down".
