SINGAPORE : To eat or not to eat chicken meat: that is the question many
could be pondering because of the bird flu outbreak in the region.

However for some, this question is completely irrelevant as a few
vegetarians believe a meatless lifestyle is the antidote to the virus.
...
George Jacobs, President, Vegetarian Society, said: "It's good for our own
health, second, it shows compassion for animals, third, it helps the
environment because meat production causes a lot of pollution, a lot of
trees are cut down, fourth, we won't have diseases like the bird flu
because we won't have the cause - factory farming."
