AR-News: (US GA) Inmate accused of neglecting his dog

LAWRENCEVILLE — A Gwinnett County inmate faces animal cruelty charges after 
allegedly leaving a pit bull puppy chained to a wall in his home without food 
or water for three days.
Vernon Vernado Green, 45, of Buford, was jailed Monday on charges of theft 
and driving on an invalid license, but failed until Thursday to notify prison 
officials that a dog at home needed to be cared for, authorities said.
