FEBRUARY 13-14: DAYS OF ACTION IN PHILADELPHIA TO SMASH HLS!!!
Friday the 13 and Saturday the 14, anti-HLS activists from Maryland, New
Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania will be converging in Philadelphia for two days packed with actions against companies vital to HLS. We will be attaching key, ALL-NEW targets in the campaign to close HLS for good. Join us in Philadelphia for the biggest anti-HLS action here in years. (For those of you going to the Lab in NJ on Friday afternoon, or the Baker demo in NYC on Sunday - events in Philadelphia will not conflict with those demos. go to both!).
Schedule:
Friday the 13: bad luck for animal abusers!! meet at 10 am at Love Park (16th and JFK boulevard) to take it to the offices of companies supporting HLS. these are ALL-NEW targets, so bring your running shoes - we're going to have some fun!!
8 pm: Benefit show/party to SMASH HLS! check out local philly bands, hang out with other activists, and hear from a special guest speaker about updates in the campaign to close HLS. 5018 Hazel Street, free Saturday the 14: Valentine's Day! They say that 'love hurts,' and this valentine's day those who support HLS will find out just what that means!
Meet at 9 am at Love Park (16th and JFK boulevard) to take it to the homes of those who support HLS.
And after two days of hard work, we'll relax and chow down at some of philly's best vegan restaurants!!

Logistics
Housing: housing will be provided for all who want it Thursday and Friday night. We will also provide lots of free odwalla juice, and some food.
Transportation: those who have cars are encouraged to bring them, so that we have enough vehicles for saturday's day of action (because, as we all know, corporate scum like to live in the suburbs). Philadelphia is easy to get to by public transportation. For those coming from NY or NJ, take the NJ Transit train to Trenton, and at Trenton board the Septa R7 to Philadelphia Suburban Station. Chinatown buses also run from NY down to Philadelphia. For those coming from Baltimore, a chinatown bus runs from Baltimore to Philly (en route to NY). Greyhound is another cheap option.
Directions: For driving directions to Philadelphia, and for directions to meetup points (16th and JFK Boulevard, and 5018 Hazel St), go to www.mapquest.com. Once you get to Philadelphia, we will have city maps for you to stay oriented.
Miscellaneous: PLEASE bring sleeping bags or blankets, as Philly can get pretty cold and we don't have enough beds for everyone. Bring comfortable shoes. Bring bandanas. Bring bullhorns and HLS signs, if you have them. And bring some rage for those who profit off of the torture of animals. And most of all, be ready for some FUN!!!!
