AR-News: (US CO) Federal cuts may slash funds for wildlife recovery

Three long-standing endangered species recovery programs in the Rocky 
Mountain region are themselves endangered by cuts proposed for the Fish and Wildlife 
Service's 2005 budget, state officials and environmentalists said Wednesday. 
Funding for two of the agency's Mountains and Plains recovery programs - the 
Upper Colorado River endangered species recovery program on the Western Slope, 
and the Platte River recovery program in Nebraska - was essentially 
eliminated in President Bush's proposed budget.
