Can anyone help find this old boy a good home to live out his remaining
years??
I am sorry there is not much time, I have no idea why people wait until the
last minute!
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
Hudson is in urgent need of a foster or adoptive home.
He is temporarily staying with his pet walker and has until this Friday
to find a home or he will be put to sleep.
He is old but still has a few good years left.
>From the first e-mail I got, Elizabeth mentioned that the
Sarah will help with the future vet care.

He is very well trained and housebroken. Please help Hudson.

Thank you very much, Mercedes

Mercedes -- My husband spoke with you earlier today.
About ten years ago we adopted Hudson, an akita-mix, from a rescue
organization in New York City. Before we adopted him, Hudson had been living on the
streets being fed by strangers. As best we know, we have provided him with the
only home and family that he has known. He is a wonderful dog his picture is
attached. When he was young, he loved going on hikes and beach walks but now
enjoys sunning himself in the yard and relaxing while chewing a bone. We had a
son seventeen months ago, and Hudson has, despite our best efforts, been
feeling increasingly shoved aside by the baby, and as my husband
mentioned they are clearly not compatible -- given the way toddler's are, so
Hudson is not at fault -- and we are concerned about the baby's safety.
It is breaking our hearts to do this, but we think we have no choice but to
try to place Hudson in a good home or else put him to sleep.

By a good home, we mean a family with a house and a yard, who will not crate
him, who will pat him a lot and let him sun himself in peace while taking him
for the occasional walk. Hudson is eleven years old, has been through
extensive obedience training, including being personally trained by Brian Kilcommons,
and is normally very docile and obedient. He is a pleasure to walk and a joy
to be with if there are no small children about.
References can be provided, including by our dog walker, with whom he is
currently staying, who has older children who adore Hudson. As I mentioned, he
cannot be crated (he never put up with crates). Thank you for your help.
