AR-News: (US PA) Orangutan may have been oldest in U.S. captivity

The 42-year-old female orangutan that died Saturday at the Pittsburgh Zoo & 
PPG Aquarium may have been the country's oldest in captivity, said zoo Chief 
Executive Barbara Baker. 
A necropsy revealed the cause of death as severe bacterial pneumonia, said 
Baker, a veterinarian. She said the illness is the leading cause of death in 
primates, particularly the great ape family, which includes chimps and gorillas.
