AR-News: (US NY) Chautauqua County SPCA Trying to Save Neglected Animals

(Leon, NY, February 2, 2004) - - The SPCA in Chautauqua County is desperately 
trying to save dozens of neglected animals. 
Troopers found the abandoned animals at "the Little Critter Ranch" in the 
Town of Leon this weekend, after receiving calls from concerned neighbors. 
Police say no one had been to the property to care for the animals in weeks. 
They found eight goats frozen to death. Investigators say the remaining 
animals were mal-nourished and in poor health -including 16 geese and two cats.
