Mary Kroll has eight "employees." And she milks them for all they've got.
Kroll, owner of Wild Heaven Farm, is in the business of making goat soap.
Kroll was raised on a goat and chicken farm when she was "knee-high to a
biscuit" in Danville, Ind. The experience nurtured her love for animals and nature.
While brainstorming with her (then) fiance Kevin about what they would do for
a living once married, the thought of making goat cheese occurred to her.
With a Reader's Digest "Back to Basics" book in hand, the 21-year-old started
investigating how to raise dairy goats for profit.
"I love goats, so I thought we could buy some goats, give them lots of love,
and make wonderful goat cheese for a living," Kroll said.
