HUNTINGDON Life Sciences has accused Securicor of capitulating by pulling
out of guarding the firm's premises after it was targeted by animal rights
activists.

Securicor has told HLS it will not renew its contract, which runs out at
the end of March.

But a spokesman for HLS said: "It seems slightly ironic when their staff
have been taking all this flak for years that they have a few
demonstrations at their head office and they capitulate."

HLS has been targeted by activists for years over its use of animals in
tests and protests have also been turned towards firms linked to it, such
as Securicor.
