An animal rights group is urging its members and other interested people to
show up in force Friday at the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting in
Portland.
The meeting will be held in conjunction with the 29th annual Pacific
Northwest Sportsmen’s Show at the Expo Center.
In a press release, officials for the Animal Protection Institute, based in
Sacramento, Calif., are urging people to show up at the meeting to push for a
24-hour maximum time for checking all traps in Oregon.
“The trappers have attended every meeting in full force — making a big
impression on the commission,” the release says.
