AR-News: (Id) 51 Horses in poor shape confiscated from owner

JULIAETTA — Acting on authority from the state veterinarian, Latah County 
sheriff´s officials have confiscated 51 horses they claim were malnourished. 
The Sheriff´s Department said many of the horses were not receiving proper 
nutrition and most of the animals were suffering from lack of water, showing 
signs of clinical dehydration. The horses were taken to Lewiston. 
Owner Wally Butler, 58, said the unannounced seizure of more than half his 
stock was unfounded and unnecessary.
