Sue Doherty wrote to me this week to say she learned the hard way there's 
truth to the adage, "No good deed goes unpunished."
She was hoping I could help her out of her "dilemma." 
There might be something in it for me, too, she pointed out.
Seems Sue, the owner of a gray-and-white house cat named Zoie, recalled my 
column about dining with good friends who monopolized the dinner conversation 
with stories about their goofy cats, while the creatures tortured me from under 
the dining room table.
Sue guessed correctly that cat lovers clobbered me for my insensitivity.
