AR-News: (Mumbai) SPCA rescues camel

MUMBAI: The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) on 
Saturday rescued a four-year-old camel who was being prepared for sacrifice on the 
occasion of Bakr-Id on Monday at Dongri.


After learning about the she-camel, named Kaveri, from a report in this 
newspaper, SPCA staff went to Dongri, but met with stiff resistance from the camel’
s owner as well as local residents.
