ANIMAL-rights activists and meat workers joined forces again yesterday to
renew their call for an end to live sheep exports from Tasmania.
At the Parliament Lawns protest, Against Animal Cruelty Tasmania (AACT)
co-ordinator Yvette Watt said the State Government was taking a passive
role on the issue to keep everybody happy.
But she said the stance was in fact having the opposite effect.
"We would like to see someone take a strong, ethical stand and say this is
not a trade that can be supported on any grounds," she said.
