AR-News: (MY) MD: Poultry crisis wo n’t derail KF C revamp

FAST-food giant KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd (KFCH) does not expect the
threat of a bird flu crisis in the country to derail the group's ongoing
restructuring to realign its operations, said group managing director
Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani. 

“The restructuring scheme is a strategic business decision, and it is on
track,” Johari told StarBiz in a telephone interview yesterday. 

Asked if it was prudent to put its entire poultry products business under
one roof, as envisaged in the restructuring exercise, he said: “We have
always been focused on the poultry business. The bird flu outbreak is just
a temporary setback which will be overcome, just like the SARS, mad cow
disease and Nipah virus outbreaks.”
