AR-News: (ID) Jakarta split over culling poultry

JAKARTA - While other countries have rushed to cull infected birds,
Indonesia has been dragging its feet.

Disagreement within the government on how best to deal with the spread of
bird flu is said to be the reason.

Health Ministry officials are said to have recommended culling chickens,
while Agricultural Ministry officials are resisting the move for fear of
the impact mass slaughter could have on the livestock industry.
