ARIMO - Many local residents here believe an investigation and subsequent
media coverage regarding a cat that was killed Jan. 16 at Marsh Valley High
School has been excessive.
The Bannock County Sheriff's Office finished an investigation Monday into the
incident and the case was given to prosecutors Tuesday.
It's unclear if charges will be filed although a decision about whether a
criminal case will be pursued is expected today.
At issue is whether agricultural sciences teacher Gordon Gillman ordered
students to kill the cat during class Jan. 16, which was reportedly an ongoing
nuisance. The cat had been living at the school
