NEW DELHI : Want to sell your prized trophies you got through poaching of 
endangered animals? Don't go anywhere, hang around in the Capital and look out 
for the Mr Agent, who's lurking around. "Owners" here are 5150 strong. 


The wildlife directorate has received a total of 6,530 declarations in 
staggered response to its notice asking for it to fall in line on or before October 
14 last year. ``Owners' hail from 16 states. 
  
Shahtoosh shawls, irvory tusks and tiger skins are possessed by the most. In 
all, possession of 21,666 shahtoosh shawls, 13,454 tusks, 747 tiger organs 
(skins, bone-pieces, stuffed bodies, heads ^ apart from two boxes of ``lucky' 
bones and claws), 473 leopard parts (besides a big box of ``lucky bones' and 
claws) has been unearthed, besides, 82 live animals privately kept captive, 576 
parts of animals protected under Wildlife Protection Act 1972 ^ Schedule 1 and 
part II of the Schedule II ^ and 951 parts of animals not covered by it.
