Victorian environment groups are continuing to blockade logging tracks to old
forest coups in Gippsland.
About 40 forest protesters have blocked access to coups into the Thomson
Catchment, arguing it is costing Melbourne's water supply 1,000 litres of water
per second.
The Wilderness Society's Megan Clinton says it will be hard to move the group.
One is locked on to a pole in the ground and others are dangling in tree sits.
"If anything's moved, the car in the road with the person lying in it, or
those two poles on either side of the car, then the person will fall out of the
tree sit," she said.
This afternoon police started breaking up a two week old fort of the Goongera
Environment Centre on the Ferntree Track.
The centre says police took their radio communications this afternoon and
says it expects arrests to be imminent.
