Horse and pony owners have until Saturday to apply for a "self-certificated"
passport.

All horses and ponies must have an official equine passport by June 30, the
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has announced.

>From February 1, owners will have to pay a veterinary surgeon to complete the
official passport description or silhouette of the horse, pony or donkey. If
an animal is microchipped, it can still be self-certified in a passport
application.
