AR-News: (US IN) Commissioner suggests returning animal control contract to SPCA

MUNCIE - Delaware County Commissioner Larry Crouch indicated Monday that the 
county should again consider the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to 
Animals as an animal control provider and noted that the SPCA was "innocent until 
proven guilty" of neglect and cruelty allegations.
Crouch said he believed the allegations raised early last year were prompted 
by other local humane groups, adding, "I don't think anybody's going to go to 
jail."
But Sheriff George Sheridan and Deputy Prosecutor Mark McKinney told The Star 
Press later Monday that investigations of the SPCA uncovered criminal 
activity, and McKinney said charges hadn't been filed because he wanted to 
"corroborate the information we have obtained so far."
