THE threats to Welsh farming were outlined in the European Parliament last
week as Euro-MPs backed a petition by 1.9 million people calling for tighter
controls over the illegal trade in bushmeat.
Wales Euro-MPs Eurig Wyn and Glenys Kinnock were among those supporting a
report by Irish Party of European Socialists Group vice-president Proinsias de
Rossa calling on the EC to strengthen existing legislation to halt the market in

infections such as ebola and hepatitis.
