NANNING - A zoo keen to attract more visitors left some flabbergasted when it
offered free ostrich meat and peacock soup, Chinese media reported yesterday.
The Nanning zoo in south-west China came up with the 'promotion' as part of
its Chinese New Year activities.
The offer came with every admission ticket bought, said a report on the
Chinese news portal Sina.com.
An ostrich weighing about 80kg and two peacocks of 3kg each are slaughtered
and cooked daily for visitors.
