Our culture has conditioned us to meet our needs and easily. Thousands of 
self-help books promise five easy steps to a better relationship, losing 10 
pounds in two weeks or housetraining your dog in two days. 
When it comes to resolving pets' behavior problems, one often- sought quick 
fix is medication to change behavior. Veterinarians, of course, are the only 
professionals who can prescribe medication for your pet. But it's a rare 
behavior problem that can be dramatically changed solely with medication.
