Thinking about becoming vegetarian or vegan? The Vegetarian Society of
East Tennessee knows there are a lot of issues to consider.
The society will bring internationally known speaker and author Brenda
Davis, a registered dietitian who is vegan, to Knoxville Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Davis will present "Exploding Nutrition Myths" in a free public program at
6:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931
Kingston Pike.
Davis will discuss whether there are "good" and "bad" foods, how you can
get a sufficient amount of protein without eating meat, whether milk is
necessary for strong bones, whether fats are "bad" and whether
carbohydrates make people fat.
