THEY are a byword for fertility, frequently star in Disney movies and 
cartoons, and are pretty good to eat. 

But it now appears the humble rabbit is moving out of its hutch and into our 
homes. 

An increasing number of people are sharing the delights of central heating 
and fitted carpets with a pet rabbit, particularly young professionals who lack 
the time or inclination to walk a dog.
