HYDERABAD : Animals have befriended man since the dawn of creation and animal 
rights should be the focus of the 21st century, spiritual head of Sadhu 
Vaswani Mission Dada J P Vaswani said on Friday. 


Addressing a press conference, Dada Vaswani said the importance of 
vegetarianism and spiritual education needs to be inculcated from the preschool level. 
"The value of love and compassion for all beings and the spiritual precepts 
imbibed at an early age would remain with an individual throughout but those 
gained later on in life may not," Vaswani said. 
  
Following the path of karma or duty, as enshrined in the Bhagavad Gita, 
Vaswani said that he was unconcerned about the feedback or the fruits of his 
righteous action. However, the feedback has been good for over 1.5 crore people who 
have pledged to become vegetarians, he said.
