AR-News: (CA-ab) Mad cow live test on way

A month-old Calgary company says it is on track to market and distribute a
live test that can detect a predisposition for mad cow disease by year end.

If so, MCD Diagnostics Inc. could be the first company in the world to
market a live test for BSE, even though the animal would still likely be
slaughtered. A positive test is no guarantee the disease will actually
develop, company president Dr. Jacques Mayet said Friday.
