"Yes sir, I'm cut from a different cloth / My texture is the best fur, of
chinchilla." - Beyoncé with Jay-Z in Crazy in Love

It was pretty difficult to be anti-fur in recent weeks as the wind chill
hit a mind and body-numbing minus-40.

And that seems to be the way the wind is blowing.

Fur sales in Canada and the U.S. have been climbing since the early '90s,
with major spurts starting around 1999.
...
"Negative attitudes about fur is shifting to an older age group,'' said
Alan Herscovici, executive vice-president of the Fur Council of Canada, a
trade group.
...
It's the small pieces, and the ubiquity of fur in the fashion marketplace,
that is the target of anti-fur activists this season.

Global Action Network, an animal-rights group that claims 2,000 members in
Canada, has launched a poster contest aimed at the issue of fur trim.
Design, art, fashion and marketing students are invited to create an
anti-fur poster, with the chance to win $1,000 and a trip to Paris for the
international leg of the competition.
