AR-News: (AU) Rodeo protest 'a success'

A PROTEST against the calf roping/rope and tie event at a rodeo in
Tamworth on Thursday night was brief but successful, according to Animal
Liberation.

Two Maitland women aged 22 and 54 ran into the arena with a banner bearing
the words, "Calf roping animal abuse", after the event got underway at the
Tamworth showgrounds.

"Our view is that a reasonable person might start questioning that if they
see the next calf on the ground being dragged with that look in its eye,"
he said.
