After death of husky, residents urge tougher city law on all dogs

BROOMFIELD - The death of a husky at the jaws of a pit bull has left
residents shaken and calling for stronger laws against vicious dogs.
"It could have been a human being," said Suzanne Klemoff, who lives next to
the yard where the husky died. "We're all afraid to go outside."
Klemoff wants a ban on pit bulls, but others favor a tougher city ordinance
aimed at all breeds. The city attorney's office is researching how other
communities handle the problem, with a report to City Council expected by the end of
the month.
