AR-News: (AU) Activists threaten rodeo protest

ANIMALS activists have threatened to disrupt a Tamworth rodeo if
organisers fail to cancel the calf-roping event.

The three-day Inner Circle Rum National Finals Rodeo gets underway on
Thursday at the Tamworth Showground, as thousands of country music fans
continue to enjoy the town's famous music festival.

Animal Liberation NSW executive director Mark Pearson said the rodeo in
general, and particularly the calf-roping event, contravened the
Prevention of the Cruelty to Animals Act.
