The Animal Shelter of Crawford County, Inc, in honoring an important part of
its mission statement, is offering a program to help local residents get their
cats spayed or neutered.
The mission statement includes providing information about animal welfare to
adults and children, especially the benefits of spaying and neutering. But the
shelter is going to go one step further.
The non-profit organization recently received a grant for $1,000 to be used
specifically for the purposes of promoting spaying and neutering as a means of
helping control the local unwanted pet population.
The grant was received from the Very Best Pet Network late last year,
following a successful application made by grant writer Cynthia Timmons of
Fundfinders, in Grayling, on behalf of the shelter.
Shelter manager Dixie Lobsinger is asking those in the community to call her
to make arrangements to have their cats altered, funded in part by grant
monies.
