Ahmednagar, January 17: It was Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography ‘My
Experiments with Truth’ which influenced Bruce Friedrich to become an
animal rights activist. Now, Friedrich has grown up to be the director of
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

‘‘It was Gandhi’s autobiography and his statement about ‘life of a lamb
being as important as a man’s’ that made me become a vegetarian,’’ says
Friedrich, who was in the city on Saturday to talk to the students of the
IIMA on ‘Effect of globalisation on animals and environment.’
