Clay County Man Charged with Animal Cruelty

New charges have been filed against a man accused in Clay County's largest animal cruelty and dog fighting case. 

Joseph Lewis was charged with fighting or baiting dogs and animal cruelty Monday. 

Police arrested Lewis about two weeks ago on a grand theft charge. When authorities searched his home, they found 32 dogs, mainly pit bulls that were living in disgusting conditions. 

Two of the dogs have since died from fighting related injuries.
