AR-News: (US VT) Warden does more than fish and game

BENNINGTON -- When it comes to enforcing fish and game laws in the region, 
one game warden and a deputy cover 350 square miles, and the work is as varied 
as the terrain. 
"The job description is vast, but that's the fun of it," said Travis Buttle, 
senior game warden for the Bennington Warden District, which covers nine 
towns, including Somerset, Pownal and Glastenbury.
Responsibilities range from protecting endangered plant and animal life to 
backing up local police agencies to search and rescue work, he said. 
As the investigator of hunting-related shootings, Buttle's work sometimes 
resembles homicide detective work, he said.
